TELEGRAPH FANTASY FOOTBALL: 08/09 PREMIERSHIP SEASON
After what seems like an eternity - the new football season is upon us. And what better way to enjoy it than pitting your
football knowledge against the rest of the nation by managing your very own fantasy team.
Forget about England's rupee-grabbing cricketers, get over your case of 'Andymonium' and once again embrace your love of
the national game by winning 'Telegraph Fantasy Football: 08/09' (TFF 08/09 for short).
TFF 08/09 invites you, the manager, to pick a team of eleven players using an imaginary budget of £50 million. The players
you choose score points for you depending on their performances on the pitch in this season's Premier League and FA Cup, starting
on Saturday, 16 August, 2008.
Players score points for scoring goals, setting up goals (called assists) and, for goalkeepers and defenders, preventing
goals. All players lose points for red and yellow cards and missing penalties.
The aim of the game is to score the highest number of points you can - the more points your team accumulates, the better
your chances of winning one of the many cash prizes.
You can buy and sell players throughout the season, testing your skill in the transfer market. At the end of the game,
the manager with the highest number of points wins £50,000. Simple as that.
WHY PLAY TFF 08/09?
There's £50,000 for the manager who finishes in first place overall, runner-up prizes (down to 10th), and weekly and monthly
prizes for the managers who top the league each week/month. There'll be £1,000 prizes for the managers who pick the best Starting
XI, and top the Golden Boot league. We'll be running the TFF Cup alongside the main game, with the winner of that picking
up £5,000. The best Super Leagues and in turn the best Chairmen will also be eligible for prizes. And, best of all, there's
an incredible £1,000,000 up for grabs if you can pick the Perfect Starting XI.* All of this adds up to a total prize fund of over £1,100,000!
What would Telegraph Fantasy Football be without Super Leagues? There is no better way to play TFF 08/09 than with a group
of mates. It's now easier than ever to register your league online and, with your own private message board, a Super League
really brings the game to life.
So what are you waiting for? With so many great reasons to play, you shouldn't be reading this anymore. Get your teams
